Tillamook Comes to Atlanta!

 

This week, we had the PLEASURE of attending a few Tillamook events celebrating their arrival to the Atlanta area. If you aren’t familiar with Tillamook, it’s time you learn about them STAT. Truth be told, we’ve been eating Tillamook grilled cheeses at lunch for the last month or so - and feel bad holding out on you. So run, don’t walk, to your nearest Publix or one of these retailers, to grab your new favorite cheese.

But back to the reason for this blog post - to discuss how unbelievably delicious the Pimento Cheese Wontons were at the events this week. Of course, they’re made with the one and only, Tillamook. We even had the opportunity to make our own Pimento Cheese Wontons. Our second favorite: the Cheddar Grits. Y’all, if you’re a grits girl, and you probably are, you have to make the recipe below. Sure to love it.

Chef Recipe: Sweet Auburn Barbecue Cheddar Grits
Makes 6 servings

  • 4 cups milk

  • 4 tablespoons butter

  • 1 cup grits

  • 2 cups Tillamook Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Directions:

  • Bring milk and butter to boil in a saucepan.

  • Turn heat to low to simmer and whisk in grits.

  • Cook over low heart for 25 minutes, stirring often.

  • Once grits are done, remove from heat, fold in cheddar cheese and season with salt and pepper.
