Q: Tell us a little bit about you, girl!

A: Hi! I've lived in Atlanta for about 13 years. I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a Public Relations degree. I've always had a love for event planning and have been planning events since I was 18.

Q: What inspired you to turn your passion into a business?

A: After dealing with my own personal health struggles, I realized how hard it is to make a change to be healthier. I realized how we all expect to be healthy until old age and that nothing will ever happen to us. So my passion came from my own struggle because I never wanted another woman to go through what I did. WellScene was born from that love of wanting to inspire women to take care of themselves.

Q: What is your favorite part of your job?

A: My favorite part is hearing from women that my conference has helped them learn more about their health and uncover previously unknown issues, resulting in feeling better than ever. Knowing I'm helping women live a better life makes every ounce of stress worth it.

Q: What advice do you have for women wanting to start their own business?

A: Wow. I would need a whole page just for this question. I would say never give up first off. Because you never know what great opportunities can happen tomorrow. I would also say remember your worth and remember that just because someone else is doing something that you are doing, they aren't you. You are your biggest asset!

Q: What excites you most about your upcoming conference?

A: It's exciting to watch the event evolve. I put so much thought into every piece of the event to create an incredible experience. The topics we are covering this year are more in-depth than last year. We are talking about mental health, hormones, pcos, infertility and so much more. I wanted this event to be about things we wished we talked more about. Use code GIRLGANG20 for $20 off the ticket price!

Q: What is your favorite health food spot in ATL?

A: Upbeet hands down. I always get the Guac it Out, but I change the dressing. Instead of the Cashew Lime Dressing, I mix the Lime Vinaigrette and the Chipotle Lime together. It is the most amazing combination. Oh and don't forget to get a Charcoal Lemonade!

Q: What advice would you give someone who is just starting out on their health and wellness journey?

A: Have grace on yourself. I feel like if people mess up they automatically want to quit and give up. Wellness should be a lifestyle. It's not temporary. So when you eat something you shouldn't have, or missed a workout, or didn't meditate, it's ok. Don't quit, just start again tomorrow.
